Clay Krasner

Clay Krasner grew up in a musical home in Indiana, influenced greatly by his father who was a choir director and piano teacher. After studying piano for six years, Krasner switched to the electric guitar in 7th grade but soon discovered a love for the music and discipline of the classical guitar. It was during his junior year in high school, at the request of the school’s band director, that he first picked up the electric bass.

Though he graduated with a bachelor of music degree in classical guitar performance from Stetson’s School of Music, Clay spent his first few post-college years playing bass at Disney World’s EPCOT Center and at clubs throughout the southeastern U.S. with various rock, jazz and country bands. While at EPCOT, Krasner worked with the All-American College Orchestra, performing with artists such as Rosemary Clooney, Michael Feinstein, Maureen McGovern and Bill Conti and several others.

Relocating to Nashville, Tennessee, Krasner was hired by respected artist and guitarist Lee Roy Parnell and began touring full-time playing bass and singing background vocals in Parnell’s band, The Hot Links. Since then, Clay has toured around the world with many other artists including Brian Littrell (of the Backstreet Boys), Chely Wright, Julie Roberts, Rodney Atkins, Little Big Town and now Terri Clark. When not on the road with Terri, Krasner can also be found touring with new vocal group Due West.

Residing in the Nashville area, Krasner maintains a busy schedule with touring and recording sessions, in addition to teaching privately and spending as much time as possible with his wife RyLee Madison, who is a singer/songwriter from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and their dog Oskar. Clay Krasner proudly uses DR strings, Shure wireless systems and Planet Waves cables and accessories.
