Journal update from the road

Well, I wanted to start off by Thanking everyone profusely for their thoughts, and prayers for my Mom, and our family. This has truly been a roller coaster ride, and the latest news was a real blow to us, and we thought it was all under “control.” Anyway, she has supplemented her naturopathic program with some new components, and she is feeling better as I write this. She really wanted me to do my unplugged tour, so I decided to go ahead and March on; I am glad I did. This has been a wonderful experience thus far, and every night has felt like a fan club party of sorts. I am playing a few old album cuts that haven’t been in the show (if ever) in years, and stuff from “The Long Way Home” as well as a few of the radio favorites. I have an arsenal of guitars with me, and need to thank Gibson for letting us ride their bus for this tour- it makes it so much nicer. I even brought a few personal household items to dress up the stage- just keeping it “real” you know! (Not THAT real- I left the toilet seat at home).

It’s such a wonderful feeling doing a tour this way. I’ve wanted to do this for years, but just wanted to feel as though the “timing” was right. So, this is as much for me as it is for the audience!! I guess what is a little surprising is that at the beginning of this I was a tad on edge as to how it would go over with me alone, but after hearing the comments after the show at the merch table and on Facebook – that this is the best show some of you have ever been to – it kinda blows me away and is very humbling; so thank you! YOU are part of it too, so without you it wouldn’t be near as much fun.

Its been going so well, I am trying to figure out how I can do some more of these.
We are going to be posting photos and Flipcam videos as we go so be sure to check back periodically for the updated stuff.
