“Folsom Prison” On The Tracks
Hey everyone,
Just a short note to say thanks to everyone who came out for some of the unplugged shows. I know the venues were a bit of a crapshoot, but the tour was such a success overall that we WILL be doing more of this type of thing in the future. Hopefully, we can build from here, and turn this into more of a theater/ PAC type of show.
I have been trying to upload lots of photo’s and youtube / flipcam footage for those of you who couldn’t make it out on this first batch of shows, so you can try and catch the vibe. I am also uploading a soundcheck video from Knuckleheads of me trying my own rendition of “Folsom Prison Blues”…I had to search for the lyrics online and do this impromptu, because the venue was literally sitting on a railroad rack. I just KNEW that whistle was gonna blow during the show. Since there was no stopping the train, I figured I would just make it PART of the show….
I love doing these types of shows, and it really takes me back to when I started out with just me and my guitar. The type of venue and crowd varies, but they have ALL been so much fun. I’m not sure who is enjoying it more, you or me!
Mom is doing better, and happy to hear things have gone well out on the road. She sends her thanks once again for all the prayers and well wishes. I am looking forward to Eddie’s Attic, the two shows out west at the end of this month, AND let’s not forget the Fan Club party in June. I will be performing a solo acoustic set for the fan club, and may even take some requests and try some impromptu song snippets. …I can’t guarantee I will know the whole song, but will do my best.
The video for “A Million Ways” will debut on CMT Canada this Friday and hopefully very shortly thereafter here online, and possibly on some of the US channels. I am excited to get it out there, and hope that it resonates with the people it is meant to.
Until next time….
TC
