I finished Viktor Frankl’s “Man’s Search for Meaning recently…it’s a great book about bringing meaning to everything you do and finding meaning in less than stellar situations. As for movies I’m forever watching the oldies, Kate Hepburn, Carey Grant, Maureen O’Hara, and always love my John Wayne’s

Sandra Bullock is my fav actress. We just rented All About Steve. Hmmm, not one of her best works, but fun just the same. If you want light and fluffy…a good watch.
Reading Reason For Hope by Jane Goodall right now. She simply amazes and inspires me! Any animal lover and nature enthusiast would love this collection of memoirs. And in my quest to find this book, I came across another book I just had to have simply because the name of it nearly made me snort my coffee out of my nose! Of course I tweeted a photo: http://twitpic.com/s6jfr

Awww…dangit…I get to rambling and forget my original intent of this post…
I recently watched “The Reader” with my middle child who is a movie buff. This movie is absolutely spot on fabulous…Kate Winslet is in it…which is a plus. If you haven’t seen this, y’all need to check it out. And oddly enough…it’s about a person who eventually makes the changes she needs to and educates herself. I don’t know if I care for the ending, as I bawled like a baby…but this is a must see, if you ask me.

Wildthing…Who Moved My Cheese?…it’s around here somewhere waiting for me to open it. Maybe I should…
I must say that I’ve read more since January 1st than I’ve read in my adult life. Life happens to all of us and we go searching for the answers…one perk to going through some rough times as of late has been that my love for reading has returned. It doesn’t hurt that I feel like I’m educating myself in the process.
These days I’ve mostly been reading books about relationships and furthering them. It takes work to make it to forever, and I’m all about that right now. It’s not enough to just be in a relationship…I want to be in a good, healthy, loving relationship. So, at this point my partner and I are educating ourselves to do just that. And the rediscovering of ourselves (as individuals) and each other (as a couple) is simply amazing.
And…I’ve hijacked this thread to ramble…blah, blah…sorry. Next time I promise to bring a great book to the table…

Went to see the movie “The Blind Side”-three times already- I loved it and it was very inspiring. There is still good in the world. Sandra Bullock is my favorite actress!!
I also loved My Sister Keeper- the movie- I have admit that at first I was disappointed at the end, like everyone else, but then I thought that it was a good storyline anyway!!

Review on “90 Mnutes in Heaven”. In the very first few pages, I was comforted about how I felt about Heaven. In realizing that when my Father passed, he no longer is in pain, and has all the energy he needs for eternity. For the first time, with my own conscience, I got down on my knees and prayed. I’ve had knowledge that it works. =) My complaints have, over the years, been right up there with the best of them. Don Piper went through one of the worst situations anybody can. To get through it and have an attitude like he has, it can only come from a power that is greater, which is God. Another book, which I am planning on reading, called “Glimpses of Heaven”, by Trudy Harris, RN. About true stories of Hope and Peace at the end of life’s journey. It’s about people who have had that near death experience, and woke up to tell their story. I feel more at peace than I ever have. On the nights I read it, I slept better than I have in a long time. A peaceful read.
Agree with woodmont on the epic-ness of Avatar.
Great book I just finished – Who Moved My Cheese? by Dr Spencer Johnson. Great unorthodox self-help/inspiration book, very different from any Joel Osteen/John Maxwell. Nice, short read too. If you’ve ever wanted to improve your reaction to change, go in search of the Cheese.

I saw Avatar a couple of weeks ago in LA, and although I favor independent films, and light comedies over big budget Hollywood blockbusters, I must say it was amazing. Saw it at an IMAX theater in 3D. Don’t wait for this one to come out on DVD, you need to see it in on the big screen…and the popcorn is just better there too…=). Doing more reading these days as well, some of which Iv’e commented on Facebook and twitter about…” Many Lives, Many Masters”, and ” The Shack”,and now I am juggling two more new ones at the same time.

I actually have a copy of Red Dragon. That one is a remake of the movie Manhunter. It is set during the time just before Silence of the Lambs, or really close therein. They made a movie Hannibal Rising. I have yet to see it, but I plan to at some point. The guy they got to play Hannibal looks creepy! Nah, I don’t think it is wierd. Hannibal Lecter is one of the best evil guys out there!

The Proposal is my current favorite movie! Haven’t seen The Blind Side yet, but I plan on it. Sandra Bullock is my all-time favorite actress. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past with Matthew McConaughey is really good. Just watched it this weekend.
Hey Linds… did you watch “Red Dragon”? That was a movie version of Hannibal Rising (which I also read). Is it demented to say that Hannibal is one of my favorite movie characters?

I just finished Hannibal Rising…interesting look at how Hannibal Lecter came to be what he was. I also finished Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire. It is the sequel to Wicked. Good read! Loved it.
My favorite recent movie would probably still be Star Trek. No contest… but book wise, I recently read “I’m Dying Up Here” which is about the LA Comedy scene back in the 60’s when it first started-up and folks like Jay Leno (ironic), Letterman, and others got their start. It was an awesome read…
