Country Conquers COPD Festival in the Park
Come see Terri Clark perform and raise awareness for COPD. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s COPD Learn More Breathe Better® campaign is hosting its first-ever Country Conquers COPD Festival in the Park. Enjoy an afternoon of yoga, dancing, country music karaoke, and fun giveaways, and while you’re at it; learn about what you may be able to do to breathe a little better.
A day filled with family entertainment and information from some of Nashville’s leading medical experts in lung health. Each year 12 million Americans are diagnosed with COPD (sometimes called emphysema or chronic bronchitis) and another 12 million are likely living with it and don’t know it. The Country Conquers COPD Festival in the Park will feature free on-site screening by the COPD Foundation to help those who may be at risk for developing this disease, which is the country’s 4th leading cause of death. Area groups like the American Lung Association in Tennessee, Tennessee Society for Respiratory Care and Sanctuary for Yoga will be on hand to share tips for better health.

Thats awesome that you are performing to bring awareness to good causes.
I dont know anyone that has COPD, but my Mom had, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Which there is no cure for. I know all too well, any pulmonary issue a person has takes a toll very quickly !
Thanks TC !

Glad to hear you are joining this cause Terri. I know someone’s Sister who has COPD, wasn’t long ago and I encouraged her to get closer to her Sister and not to worry if she couldn’t help her in the ways it would take to become closer. Things are looking better for them. There again I got overly worried and couldn’t pinpoint where all the worry was coming from and it turned out to be more then I thought, it was medical….I am starting to tunes things in and one day it will be much clearer and I won’t have to freak out before I figure things out. Medical stuff has also been the scariest thing for me and I can tell you the day I shut it off years ago.
Anyway blah blah. Hope you are enjoying your down time and don’t forget to tweet us hello now and then. I saw the pic of you in Hawaii and I must say I LOVE that picture, I guess knowing you wrote “A Million Way To Run” at that time it’s wonderful to see a pic of you, sometimes a picture can say a million words! Take care, stay strong TC

Yes, this a great cause. As an ex-smoker (8 yrs+) I feel sort of lucky. But, I know too well from friends what this disease can do. Giving back to any community, is always good.
