Chuck Fields
Chuck Fields Drums and Percussion. Starting out at the age of 5, there was little doubt what young Chuck wanted to do; play the drums and make music.
Early influences such as Buddy Rich, Art Blakey, Vinnie Coliuta,Steve Jordan and Dennis Chambers, kept the fire burning as he graduated with a music degree from Memphis State. For the next few years he played the Memphis music scene and toured and played with jazz greats, Jimmy Heath, Herb Ellis, Phineas Newborn Jr., and Herman Greene to name a few. For 10 years he was a sought after teacher at the world renowned Memphis Drum Shop. Then after a move to Nashville, Chuck landed a gig at Opryland Theme Park, which led to touring and recording gigs with Mike Griffin, Mark Selby, Chris Cummings, Paul Brandt, Allison Brown, and Martina McBride to name a few. Chuck played on Lay Me Down On Your Pallet from the Mississippi John Hurt album that was nominated for a Grammy. You can listen to that track from this page and you can listen to the first track from Trioshift’s record that Chuck recorded in 2005. He can also be heard on Mark Selby’s first album More Storms Comin on Vanguard Records. Currently (and for the past 7 years) Chuck is the touring drummer for platinum selling country artist Terri Clark. He is currently a Pearl Drums, Aquarian Drumheads and Zildjain Cymbals endorser.
With fat groove in any style, swing for days, touch AND power, and a unique soloing style that will melt your face, Chuck is Terri Clark’s and TRIOSHIFTs backbone and groove producer.
