An update from Terri…
Tuesday, 26 January 2010
Hello everyone,
This won’t be a very long post, as I only wanted to ask that you please keep my Mother, and our family in your prayers at this time. We just got some devastating CT scan results after she had been admitted to the hospital, as a result of on-going pain, and discomfort. The scans showed considerable progression of the disease in a short span of time. The doctors have done all they can at this point.
We haven’t given up all hope and still believe in miracles but this is, and will continue to be an extremely difficult time. Thanks for your positive energy, prayers, and well wishes…
TC

Terri, I finally got to see you in concert in Decatur, Ga. several years ago. A couple of friends and I just purchased tickets to see you again in Decatur, Ga. I have just recently heard the news regarding your mother. Terri, I am so sorry to hear of your mother’s illness. If I don’t ever get the pleasure of meeting you in person, I just want to let you know that your mother, you, and your family are all in my thoughts and prayers. Miracles do happen. Keep faith.

Praying for your mom, I lost my mom to cancer five years ago. Since then I have learned that I do not regret what I have done, only what I did not do. Spend as much time as you can with your mom and remember that in the end we have to accept that there are some greater mysteries that we will never understand.
Bon courage

Linda, I also have a sister named Linda who is sharing the walk down the same path you are on. The name Linda means beautiful in spanish. My sister as well as you are both beautiful people because you both gave us beautiful children with talents that touch so many in the world! As I look into my sisters eyes I see love as you see in Terri’s. Remind her to be strong like you are! For this is all just a blink… peace, love and light…Dianne & Lex <3

Creed probably isn’t your kind of music, but they did a song called “Don’t Stop Dancing”. In some of the darkest days I have known I would que up the I-Pod and blast down the highway on my Harley listening to this song. It always helped me keep things in perspective:
At times life is wicked and I just can’t see the light
A silver lining sometimes isn’t enough
To make some wrongs seem right
Whatever life brings
I’ve been through everything
And now I’m on my knees again
But I know I must go on
Although I hurt I must be strong
Because inside I know that many feel this way
[Chorus:]
Children don’t stop dancing
Believe you can fly
Away…away
At times life’s unfair and you know it’s plain to see
Hey God I know I’m just a dot in this world
Have you forgot about me?
Whatever life brings
I’ve been through everything
And now I’m on my knees again
But I know I must go on
Although I hurt I must be strong
Because inside I know that many feel this way
[Chorus]
Am I hiding in the shadows?
Forget the pain and forget the sorrows

Yo TC,
Glad you posted that response, and glad you are hangin with Ma as much as you can. What a wonderful daughter to have such a wonderful Mom…..don’t worry bout postponing that ‘tour’ if you feel the need, as you’d only want to do that with a clear mind. Right now Mom is #1 seems like more than ever, and that tour can happen anytime. The Lord Is…..and that is what I can say.

May we all find strength, hope, joy and comfort in the ancient words of the psalmist:
“We wait in hope for the LORD;
he is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.”
Psalm 33:20-21

Hello Terri and Linda,
We are saddened to hear about this latest setback. I just lost my father in June to this terrible thing called Cancer. I prayed for healing for him also, but sometimes you just have to leave it in God’s hands. There are miracles everyday. Prayer is the best medicine. Spend your time together with memories and laughter. Your new CD has touched my heart and has helped me heal. I too would have taken my Dad’s place not to see him in so much pain. We love with all our hearts and the memories stay with us forever. You have a strong support system in your family and friends. Lean on them and let them help you. You are in our prayers. Your family in Utah.

Thanks so much everyone. Mom came home about a week ago. It’s one day at a time around here, and some days are better than others. She hasn’t thrown in the towel, and her fighting side prevails. She has taught me so much about grace in the face of darkness and adversity, and I will carry these lessons with me for the rest of my life. Miracles happen, so we aren’t giving up hope. She read some of your posts yesterday and was so touched by them. I am taking things a day at a time and will decide whether or not to move the Unplugged shows to another time, by next week. Thanks for your concern and understanding.

Greeting’s Terri, and i am sorry to hear about the news concerning your moms ct scan results, however i am a big believer in miracles and i know from experience that GOD
( JESUS ) is still in the miracle working realm to those who trust and believe that he is able.
i want to let you know that i will be keeping her in my prayers and asking the LORD to do a great work in healing your mom.
i also became a fan of yours on facebook today, one of my favorite songs to date is (slow news day )
in any case i want to share something with you as a sorta of pick me up inspirational,
( I SAID TO THE MAN WHO STOOD AT THE GATE OF
THE NEW YEAR, GIVE ME A LIGHT THAT I MAY TREAD SAFELY INTO THE UNKNOWN.
AND HE REPLIED: GO OUT INTO THE DARKNESS AND PUT YOUR HAND INTO THE HAND OF GOD.
THAT SHALL BE TO YOU BETTER THAN LIGHT AND SAFER THAN A KNOWN WAY. )
with that my dear friend i will close out my little letter to you, and encourage you to believe with me for your mom to be healed completely.
GOD bless you now.

Terri,
I am so sorry to hear this. I agree with what everyone has said. NO ONE should have to go thru this, but I have found out myself recently that it truly helps knowing that there is all this Love and Prayer out there and there are many people that you may not have met, but are Praying for your Mom and your family (Dad in my case). Take Care of you and yours and I too continue to Pray.
Love, Nik

Terri,
Check out the website LAF.org. There is a great book to will help with all the aspects of treatment, recovery, and hope. It has helped many people I know deal with this devastating disease. I lost my mom 15 years ago and wish I would have had this as a resource.

Terri, I can empathize with your situation. I lost my wife a little over 2 years ago to a cancer that was rare at the time. What kept me going and being a good husband was looking to Jesus Christ for His guidance. Because of that and listening to His voice, I was Blessed with being able to literally handing my wife to Our Lord. In you dark times, when all seams lost, and the suffering by you mom, your family and yourself, remember to look to Our Lord, Read His Word and He will Bless You in ways that right now are not even imaginable. If you had told me 5 years ago, that after waiting 41 years to find the one woman I was going to spend the rest of my life with, I would only get to spend 2 years, 4 months and 8 days with her and that during that time, 16 of those months would be her battling cancer and me standing beside her, Loving Her and Blessed By her presents without any regret for the short time or anger at God for giving her to me and then so quickly taking her away. That I would use that to further His Love to others. I would have thought you were crazy. So I submit to you, that even when you heart is breaking, and there seams to be no end to the pain. There is. May you find God’s Blessing and hold tight to Him, now and forever.
God Bless You and Your Family
